The Story

Content: 100% Cotton
Panel measures approx. 31cm x 31cm.
Printed with water-soluble ink
Made in Japan

“Sashiko” means “little stabs” and is a traditional Japanese embroidery style which dates back to the edo period. It is a practical and beautiful style perfect for embroidery projects, mending and quilting.

The panel is pre-stencilled eliminating the need to mark the fabric before starting to sashiko stitch. All the pre-stencilled markings wash off in tepid water when complete and each panel comes with a stitching guide and tips. The panels are printed on 100% cotton indigo fabric. DO NOT prewash before stitching.

Stitch using Sashiko thread, you can use all one colour or add different colours to provide decorative embellishment to your piece. Use the completed panel to make the Japanese kitchen towel as explained in the instructions, or incorporate it in a sewing project or quilting project
